Introduction
This page is all about World class Sportscar racing.
Sportscar racing is about cars which can travel faster than F1 cars and run for 4, 6, 12 or even 24 hours. Pitstops, multiple drivers, repairs to car are all part and parcel of endurance sportscar racing.
I've been following Sportscar racing since the mid-70s and went to my first race in 1979, when I visited Le Mans for the first time. I was totally absorbed by the tactics, the spectacle and the fact that these cars actually looked a bit like cars you may see on the road some time (unlike single seaters).
Over the years, I've seen many changes, mostly, sadly, for the bad, but sportscar racing is currently on a high again with the FIA GT series, so it's fair to say that sportscar racing may fall on hard times and have few friends in high places, but it's hard to kill...
On this website I've included many photographs that I've taken over the years, the quality is restricted by the desire to include as many as possible. All my images are scanned at 200dpi and are in 256 colours. If you really like any particular image, drop me an E-Mail and I'll try and get you a higher resolution image.
The website concentrates on Endurance racing, especially the Group C series of the 80s, the Le Mans 24 Hour Race and the, currently, resurgent FIA GT series. It also, briefly, covers the sportscar racing of the USA.
Whilst MG races, Renault Spyder races, historic GT races and even Porsche Supercup races can be great entertainment, they are not covered by this page.
